ANKARA (Reuters) - Turkey's main opposition mayoral candidate for the capital Ankara overtook the candidate of President Tayyip Erdogan's AK Party in local elections on Sunday, with 41.6 percent of ballots opened, broadcaster NTV said.
In Istanbul, AK Party candidate and former prime minister Binali Yildirim maintained his lead over the opposition candidate with more than half the ballot boxes opened, NTV said.
