The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) was established on January 1, 1971. It is Singapore's central bank and integrated financial regulator. As a member of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), MAS plays a key role in monitoring monetary policy, banking, insurance, securities, and broader financial regulation. After the merger of MAS and the Monetary Supervision Committee, it also assumed the responsibility of currency issuance.
